Limited Edition Honda Accord HFP Coupe

What follows is the press release from Honda Canada:

MARKHAM, ON (February 17, 2011) – Honda Canada revealed the first member of its new
Honda Factory Performance (HFP) line-up at the 2011 Canadian International Auto Show in
Toronto. The Canadian-exclusive, “Limited-Series Black” 2011 Honda Accord HFP Coupe is an
aggressive expression of Honda’s commitment to developing new levels of styling and performance potential of its vehicles.

“The new Accord HFP Coupe is designed for the Accord buyer who wants an even sportier look
and an enhanced driving experience in addition to the quality and reliability Honda has always
delivered,” said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc. “We wanted to
provide an example of how easy it is to create a more sporty ride when your foundation is a Honda – and we’re confident that we have hit the mark with this car.”

The enhanced exterior styling comes from a wider and lower appearance, achieved through a 25- mm (1”) suspension drop, 19-inch wheels and skirt kit that includes front, rear and side skirts. In addition, a more responsive sport suspension designed to provide a more exhilarating driving experience with improved tire grip from special Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires. Add that to the Accord’s 271-horsepower V6 engine and the result is a car meant to turn heads just long enough to see the new 2011 Honda Accord HFP Coupe go from the rear-view mirror to the horizon ahead.

The 2011 Limited-Series Black Honda Accord HFP Coupe will be priced at $37,890 and will be
available at select Honda dealerships this spring in limited numbers, with only 200 being produced.

Two transmissions will be available – 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual, with Black as the
only exterior colour.

Time To Update Your Navigation DVD?

Your Honda factory installed navigation unit says you’re at a dead end but the road clearly extends beyond the horizon? It might be time to order an updated navigation DVD!

Unfortunately, due to licensing, the navigation disk cannot be ordered through your Honda dealer’s parts or service department. However, the process is fairly easy through the Honda.ca website.

The easy way is to simply click on this link to order your navigation DVD update. From this site you simply need to click on your vehicle, give your address information and pay via credit card.

The longer route is to go to the Honda.ca website and follow these steps:

1. Click on the Honda logo at the top left of the upper navigation bar.

2. At the bottom of the page you will find a series of columns containing links to various pages at the website. Go over to the column with the heading ‘Owners’.

3. Click on ‘Genuine Parts & Service’ under ‘Owners’.

4. On the left of this page there will be a vertical navigation bar. Mouseover ‘Genuine Parts and Service’. Select ‘Navigation’ from the list of options.

5. From this page, click the ‘Order Navigation DVD’ button and you will find yourself at the ordering site.

Although we can’t order the disk for you, we at Orangeville Honda, are more than happy to help you with any questions you have in the ordering process or the subsequent installation process once you have your updated DVD. If you do not have access to the internet, drop in and we’ll run you through it on one of our computers.

Don't Make A $140 Mistake! Get Your Wiper Inserts Changed at the Dealership

We have it instilled in our minds by constant media suggestion to buy the simple ‘do-it-yourself’ items for your vehicle at the Canadian Tires or Walmarts of the world. Windshield wiper blades are definitely one of these items. Even the car owner with the least mechanical ability can change his or her own wiper blades.

Vehicle quality is constantly being improved each and every year and with that, the vehicles are becoming more and more complicated. Yes, even the simple wiper blade has evolved into something that is a bit of a technical masterpiece. Your OEM Honda wiper blades are made to provide the best visibility when you need it the most.

Especially since 2008, Honda has changed their wiper blade design drastically. Customers regularly complain that after replacing the original blades with inexpensive aftermarket wipers, they are worse off. At your Ontario Honda Dealer, it is painful for the Parts and Service Departments to have to inform a customer that they need to spend up to $70 per wiper blade because they threw their old ones out and replaced them with a ‘cheaper’ alterative from one of the big box stores.

It is painful because, although we’re all in the business of making money, we don’t like to make it on a customer’s mistake – especially when they’ve maybe been handed some misinformation.

On ALL Honda vehicles with OEM wiper blades, ALL Ontario Honda Dealers, especially Orangeville Honda, will replace the wiper blade inserts for just the cost of the rubber. In other words, after paying for the inserts, installation is free.

How much are these inserts? Typically, after sales tax, you will pay no more than $12.99 total for both blades (approx. $5.50 each)!

Here are some examples of what Honda OEM full replacement wiper blades cost:

2008-2011 Honda Civic Sedan - $70 per side (yes that’s $140 for wipers!).
2008-2011 Honda Civic Coupe - $50 per side.
2009-2011 Honda Fit - $36 per side.
2007-2011 CRV - $40 for the driver’s side and $30 for the passenger’s.
2008-2011 Accord - $40 for the driver’s side and $30 for the passenger’s.

The rubber is not meant to last and can degrade fairly quickly in the extreme Central Ontario weather. If your vision isn’t as clear as it used to be, drop into Orangeville Honda – no appointment necessary – and we’ll gladly change your inserts for you.
